Can you take constructive criticism on your 401(k)?

by Ric Lager | Sep 6, 2017 | 401k Advice, Blog, Educational | 0 comments

Weekly, I go through the following process with multiple individual company 401(k) retirement plan investment advice prospects.

I review the default company 401(k) retirement plan menu mutual fund options. I then rank these mutual funds on investment performance and annual costs to own. The last part of the process involves my effort to compare my analysis to the current holdings of the individual company 401(k) retirement plan participant.

The facts are that most individual company 401(k) retirement plan accounts include several poor-performance and overly expensive company 401(k) retirement plan mutual fund holdings.

Obviously, individual company 401(k) retirement plan participants can’t fire their company 401(k) retirement plan provider. he same goes for picking the default company 401(k) retirement plan menu mutual funds.

The main company 401(k) retirement plan account investment management problem is that the individual company 401(k) retirement plan participant has not kept up with the technology.

Independent, third-party analysis can be a constructive and educational process. The main goal is to take the steps necessary in order to lower the annual costs and improve the investment performance of your company 401(k) retirement plan account.

As a small business owner, I enjoy being made aware of new technology and processes that outside experts offer me. That is one of the reasons that my small business continues to grow.

You are the investment manager of your company 401(k) retirement plan account. There are things you can do and moves that you can make to improve your job.

Don’t be so resistant to a new idea or way of doing things. Your ability to retire when you want with the money you want to depends upon improving your company 401(k) retirement plan investment management decisions.
