It was reported by Paul Merriman at MarketWatch last week that Boeing employees left $98 million on the table in 2013. The reason is that Boeing employees did not take full advantage of the company 401(k) match funds contributions.

The article quotes a Harris Poll for Wells Fargo that states one-third of all U.S. residents aged 25 to 75 are not contributing at all to their company 401(k) retirement plan.

Take ten minutes to log into your Minnesota company 401(k) retirement plan account. Then check on the level of your company 401(k) matching contributions.

If you don’t have time for that, call someone in your Human Resources or Employee Benefits Department and ask them to tell you the current company 401(k) contribution level.

Hey, it’s free money. Don’t let it go unnoticed. It is well worth your ten minutes.
